Sparky Sparky’s Story
Philadelphia, PA
Rescue event at PetsMart I’m Sparky, and I decided to enter your contest,
along with this handsome photo, because I
thought it’d be fun and it’s for a great cause.
The truth is, every pet entering this contest is
extraordinary in their own way. I’m happy to
share just a little bit of my story.
A sweet girl was volunteering with the cats at a
PetsMart and decided to take me home with her
because her dad really wanted some company.
At the time, I was tiny—just an innocent little
kitten who knew very little about the world. As
I settled into my new surroundings, I began to
learn what a home was, what a family was, and
what love was.
Those feelings of comfort, safety, and love have
been reinforced every single day. As an adult
kitty, I’m now very independent, but I also love
to cuddle. I’m extremely affectionate and always
happy to welcome back anyone who’s been
away. My fur is especially soft and silky, if I say
so myself, and my family and close friends enjoy
petting me—gently.
Why gently? Because I like quiet and tenderness.
In fact, I don’t like loud noises at all. They startle
and sometimes scare me, and who needs that
kind of stress? For instance, if someone sneezes,
I usually make a mad dash for a chair to hide
under. I actually prefer women to men because
they’re often quieter, with a softer voice and a
softer touch. Purrfect.
I’m honored to be in this contest, as I want
the donations to help those who don’t have a
wonderful life like mine. I know how lucky I was
to be adopted, but my adoring family always
tells me feel THEY’RE the lucky ones. What an
extraordinary feeling, and what an extraordinary
life.
